Nick Bell OTR/L, CDRS, LDI is an occupational therapist, licensed driving instructor, and certified driver rehabilitation specialist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He provides clinical and behind-the-wheel assessments in the driver rehabilitation program at the Assistive Technology Center. Nick has extensive rehab experience with patients who have neurologic, orthopedic, cognitive and visual conditions. He participates in clinical research with university, healthcare and corporate partners focused on low vision drivers, new drivers, adaptive equipment drivers, and driving simulation. Nick also provides education on driving rehab to community organizations, students, and other medical professionals. | |

Lea Bertoni, OTR/L, CDRS, received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Duquesne University. After working in inpatient and acute hospital settings for several years as an OT, she transitioned into the specialty field of driver rehabilitation following a move to Arizona in 2015. She successfully achieved certification as a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) in August 2017. She currently practices as the clinical lead therapist at Driving to Independence in Tempe, AZ. She is an active member of ADED and currently serves on the Professional development committee. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. |

Ann Clark, OTR/L, CDRS, LDI is celebrating 43 years as an occupational therapist with specialty study areas including: dementia care, senior home safety, low vision rehabilitation, ergonomics and driver rehabilitation. In 2000, Ms. Forrest Clark became a MN licensed driving instructor and in 2012 earned the certified driver rehabilitation specialist credential. She lead the driver rehabilitation program at Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital of Duluth, MN for 27 years retiring in August 2024. In 2020, Ann became the owner operator of the Safer Driver Driving School specializing in senior driver testing and low-tech adaptive equipment driving training. Ann is the author of the Driving Risk Calculator – a clinical decision-making framework that is used internationally to identify driver potential for involvement in a motor vehicle crash. Ms. Clark has served on the ADED certification committee for 7 years with 2 of those years as chair. Ann has also served as a member of the ADED Research committee. |
Raechaell Corbett, MS OTR/L, CDRS, CDI has been an Occupational Therapist for 18 years and joined the world of driver rehab in 2018. She received her CDRS in 2020 and is currently the Supervisor of the Driver Assessment Program in Meriden, CT. Raechaell has experience working in a multitude of settings including in-patient rehab, acute care, sub-acute rehab, and outpatient orthopedics/neuro. She also assisted Lions Low Vision of Fairfield and New Haven counties to create Lions Low Vision Centers at Saint Mary’s Hospital and Easterseals. Raechaell is currently using all of her experience to provide comprehensive driver assessments and driver training to individuals of all ages. She is currently a member of ADED’s education committee and ADED’s Speakers Bureau. Raechaell has also been accredited to educate EMS in CT to assist with improving interactions with the Neurodiverse community and drivers of modified vehicles. She works with Easterseals to partner with various organizations throughout CT including police departments, local rehab hospitals, vocational rehab, mobility equipment dealers, local universities, etc. to be able to provide a team approach to driver rehab. | |
![]() | Kathy Craig, M.Ed, has been a teacher in Deaf Education for 24 years. She received her Driver’s education endorsement in 2005. For the past 19 years she has taught Driver’s Education to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at Hinsdale South/LADSE. She is currently one of three certified Driver’s Education teachers in the State that are dually qualified in Deaf Education and Driver’s Education. As part of the Drivers Education program, she modifies the curriculum as well as does all in car driving lessons. She has created a pre-drivers education class for students to help expose them to content prior to enrolling in the course. She has also added simulator lessons into her curriculum to help give additional experience to her students. She recently received her Specialized Instructor Badge and is enrolled in the DRS program which she hopes to complete in 2026. |
Cassy Churchill works for BraunAbility’s North American Manufacturing division as a Marketing Manager. In this role she oversees the product portfolio development and strategy for dealer and consumer distribution, including website, print, digital communication.
She previously worked in the Dealer Development Department as a performance Coach for BraunAbility. In this role she facilitated and presented the AbilityPro Sales Certification Course, as well coached dealers to optimize their performance in either a development capacity or onboarding of new locations. Other industry experience includes retail roles such as, Regional Store Manager, General Manager, and Sales Director for local mobility dealership. Whether in retail or with her work with the industry leading manufacture, she is passionate about helping customers find the best product to meet mobility challenges, and enjoys working with community resources, including local driver evaluators.
Cassy has also served as the Mobility Equipment Dealer Representative on the ADED Board of Directors for two terms and is the Government Relations Committee Chair for ADED. She also serves as the Education and Training Committee Chair and serves on the Dealer Marketing Sub-Committee for NMEDA. | |
Brenda Eadens, MRC, CRC, CDRS, has over 38 years’ experience in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation and has worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor, Job Placement Specialist, Assistive Technology Specialist and Bioptic Driving Instructor. She is employed by the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as a Bioptic Driving Instructor a position she has held since August of 2005. She earned her Master’s in Rehabilitation from the University of Kentucky in 1997. Brenda is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS). Brenda is an active member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (ADED), and the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) including its state affiliate Kentucky Rehabilitation Association (KRA). | |
Staci Frazier, OTR/L, CDI, CDRS, is a seasoned occupational therapist and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist with over three decades of experience in driver rehabilitation and adaptive mobility services. She is the founder and owner of DriveAbility LLC, where she provides comprehensive driver rehabilitation services to individuals across various age groups and diagnoses. Prior to this, Staci coordinated the DriveAbility Program at Exeter Hospital, overseeing service delivery and staff supervision. Her extensive background also includes roles in outpatient rehabilitation, home health, and adaptive equipment training. An active member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED), she has served in multiple leadership positions, including President and Secretary, and has been recognized with the ADED Achievement Award. Staci is a frequent presenter at local, state, and national conferences, sharing her expertise on topics such as vision therapy, senior driving, and traumatic brain injury. | |
Bryan Garrison is the Program Director for the Telerehabilitation Enterprise Wide Initiative (TREWI) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Tampa VA. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s in Healthcare Administration from Saint Joseph’s University. He began his career at the Memphis VA, providing driver rehabilitation services and working in the Spinal Cord Injury department, and later became supervisor of the Kinesiotherapy department in Tampa. He currently serves as the national lead for Kinesiotherapy on the CERNER Solutions team and chairs the Telehealth Innovation Committee. A former president of ADED and its Florida Chapter, Bryan now serves as president-elect and has presented at numerous local and national conferences. | |
Emily Haffner, CScD, MOT, OTR/L, CDRS, has worked in the field of driving rehabilitation in Ohio since 2013. She has experience across the spectrum of driver rehab services including low tech, high tech, bioptic, older adult, and new driver evaluations and training. Emily also has extensive outpatient experience working with adult neurological populations participates in community events like CarFit. In 2013, she completed a clinical doctorate degree with the University of Pittsburgh focusing on implementation of research into practice. She has an interest in promoting evidence-based practice and clinically based driving research and is currently serving as the Chairperson for ADED’s Research Committee. Emily enjoys program development and mentoring others to help bring evidence from research into practice. | |
Chuck Hardy is the Director of Quality & Compliance at the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA). He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) and an American Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). He has over 30 years of experience as a quality assurance professional in the commercial, defense and aerospace electronics industries, including 21 years at the Harris Corporation. He has implemented and maintained ISO 9001 Quality Systems at three different companies. For the past 12 years, he has overseen the NMEDA Quality Assurance Program (QAP) for dealers, the Manufacturer Quality Assurance Program (MQAP) for vehicle conversion and mobility equipment manufacturers, and the Compliance Review Program (CRP) that is responsible for reviewing wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) crash and compliance testing. | |
Timothy Jones OTR, CDRS, is an occupational therapist, driving instructor, certified driver rehabilitation specialist with more than 30 years of experience in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Tim works in the specialized field of driver rehabilitation. He is the owner of Rehabilitation of Frederick, Inc., and provides driver evaluation and training for individuals with a variety of disabilities. Tim is an accomplished presenter and has taught several workshops on the topic of complex disabilities and vehicle modifications for ADED (Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists) and the Maryland Department of Transportation. | |
Amy Lane, OTR/L, CDRS, is the Director of Education, Training & Conference at the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association. Prior to this, she was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology at the University of Pittsburgh and managed a comprehensive driver rehabilitation program. She has more than 30 years of experience practicing as an occupational therapist, with more than 20 of those years dedicated to the field of driver rehabilitation and auto-mobility industry. She has published in both trade and peer reviewed publications, has contributed book content, and presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on the topics of driving and transportation options for persons’ with disability. She has collaborated with her state’s Department of Transportation, American Occupational Therapy Association, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, and the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and served on various national panels related to driver rehabilitation, low vision driving, and community mobility. | |
Kate Lopez, OTR/L, MHS, LDI, CDRS is an occupational therapist (OT) and certified driver rehabilitation specialist (CDRS) working for Mercy Health-West Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has been working as an OT for over 23 years and has been working in driver rehabilitation for over 21 years and became a CDRS in 2013. She performs in-clinic assessments, behind the wheel assessments, and driver training for a variety of disabling conditions. She has been a consultant for Adaptive Technology Consulting, LLC on a project addressing driver training through Virtual Reality for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. She is a frequent guest lecturer at universities and to area healthcare practitioners regarding the field of driver rehabilitation and has presented at regional and national conferences for the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). She is the current Past President of the Board of Directors for ADED as of January 1, 2024. | |
Sadie McCallum is currently a high school senior at John Stark Regional High School in Weare, New Hampshire, and will be graduating in June. She plans to pursue a mechanical engineering degree with a creative writing minor in the fall, and has been an active disability advocate for nearly a decade. Sadie has been inventing adaptive technology since age nine, and has been a novelist for the last three years. She participated in an adaptive driving program from August 2024 to January 2025. At school, Sadie an avid theater kid, Amnesty International chapter president, and honors student. In her free time, she loves participating in activism, writing, and knitting! | |
Petra J. McCarney, MS, OTR/L, CDRS, is an Occupational Therapist and CDRS from Indiana. Prior to becoming a CDRS, she worked in various rehab settings including acute rehab, outpatient, home-health, and long-term care in Indiana and Kentucky. She currently works as the Clinical Manager for Therapeutic Mobility Services out of Fort Wayne, Indiana where she provides a large variety of community rehabilitation services including driver rehabilitation, bioptic driving services, high-tech driving rehabilitation, vehicle modifications, wheelchair evaluations, jobsite/assistive tech/ergonomic evaluations, and large scale home modifications. | |
Karen McCullough, CSP is a nationally recognized keynote speaker specializing in change management, generational dynamics, and workforce trends. Karen is a licensed occupational therapist and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist with a robust background in driver rehabilitation and adaptive mobility solutions. With extensive experience in clinical practice, Karen has been instrumental in conducting comprehensive driver evaluations, recommending adaptive equipment, and developing individualized training programs to enhance driver safety and independence. Her commitment to the field is further demonstrated through active participation in professional organizations, contributions to educational initiatives, and ongoing collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to advance best practices in driver rehabilitation. | |
![]() | Jacqueline Milani, MBA, MS, is a Senior Highway Safety Specialist in the Enforcement and Justice Services Division at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Ms. Milani is responsible for providing national leadership in developing and improving highway safety programs involving driver licensing, driver education, autonomous vehicles, and enforcement. To complete this work, Ms. Milani relies on collaborations internally with NHTSA colleagues and with local, state, and other national partners.

Carrie Morfoot, M.Ed., has been a teacher in Deaf Education for 28 years. Carrie has worked in the high school and transition setting for 26 years and has worked with students of all ability levels including those with multiple disabilities. Carrie has taught the classroom portion of Driver’s Education at both the high school and transition level. Carrie currently supervises the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program and works with her Driver’s Education teacher and Transition teacher to support curriculum development in the area of Driver’s Education. | |
Jenny Nordine, OT/L, CDRS, is a highly experienced occupational therapist with over 35 years of expertise in Occupational Therapy. Driven by a commitment to fostering independence, she founded Driving to Independence in 2001, a specialized driver rehabilitation program serving Arizona and New Mexico. The program provides comprehensive adaptive driving assessments, training, and vehicle modifications, including specialized driving equipment and lifts tailored to individual needs.
A recognized leader in the field, Jenny has presented extensively on private practice development and adaptive driver assessment and training. Her speaking engagements include the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED), the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) and the Arizona Brain Injury Transition Conference. Additionally, she maintains ongoing collaborations with Midwestern University and the Arizona School of Health Sciences in their Occupational Therapy programs.
Jenny has held multiple leadership roles within ADED, including committee chair positions and two terms on the Board of Directors from 2014 to 2019. She served as ADED President in 2015 and 2018 and currently holds the position of President-elect. | |
Jeffrey Perron completed his Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapist in 2017 from IU and joined the driving rehab community in 2018. He started his career in a Skilled Nursing Facility. He then moved to the Rehab Hospital of Indiana where he started working toward his true passion of driving rehab while working with the low vision specialist. He received his CDRS license in 2020 at which time he transitioned to the private practice company Mitchell’s Driving Solution and works in the Central Indiana area. Jeff works with clients of all ages and skill levels including new drivers, older drivers, people with cognitive deficits, physical impairments, and people with low vision. He performs comprehensive evaluations and behind-the-wheel training with standard and low tech driving as well as many people with bioptic glasses. Jeff is currently starting his second term as a member of ADED’s education committee. Jeff is also a loving husband and father to two beautiful young girls who ask almost weekly if he will be the one that teaches them to drive. | |
Mr. Brett Robinson has been involved in the highway traffic safety arena for almost 35 years and is the Co-founder and President for Highway Safety Services, LLC (HSS) located in Indiana, PA, a leading company for consulting services in highway traffic safety. He serves as the Secretariat for the Association of National Stakeholders in Traffic Safety Education (ANSTSE) and is the Executive Director of the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA) and the Executive Director for the State Motorcycle Safety Association (SMSA). | |
Stephanie Scharf, OTR/L, CDRS, CDI, graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1990 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. I have practiced for 35 years with an emphasis in outpatient neuro-rehabilitation for 15 years at Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood, SC, in-patient spinal cord rehabilitation and burn care rehabilitation at Medical University of South Carolina. I received certification as a Driver Rehabilitation Specialist in 2013. Nikki Simmons, MS, OT/L, CDRS, is an seasoned Occupational Therapist with 26 years of experience in diverse clinical and rehabilitation settings. Since 2013 she has specialized in driving rehabilitation when she founded Driving Independence, a community based private practice serving Arkansas,
Tennessee and Mississippi. Through comprehensive driving evaluations and training, she helps individuals with medical conditions, disabilities and age-related changes maintain independence and mobility. As an active member of ADED, Nikki has served on various committees, contributing to industry standards and best practices. She is also involved in an NMEDA, working to advance safe and effective adaptive driving solutions. Breanna K. Snyder, OTRL, CDRS, is a licensed occupational therapist and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist with a strong background in both clinical practice and program leadership. Currently serving at Driving to Independence, she specializes in comprehensive driver evaluations, adaptive equipment recommendations, and collaborative care planning for clients navigating mobility challenges. Previously, as Clinical Director at Milemarkers Therapy, Inc., Breanna led the expansion of services across multiple locations, implemented efficient documentation systems, and supervised multidisciplinary teams. Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her active participation in the ADED Education Committee and various certifications, including badges in Inclusive Communication and Wheelchair Seating. Recognized for her contributions to the field, she was honored as one of the "20 Exceptional Leaders Under 40" by the News Herald Lake Havasu in 2019. | |
Chad Strowmatt, OTD, CDRS, earned his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1987. He worked at TIRR until he founded a private practice in 1993 with his business partner Chris Davis, PT. He has been practicing in the field of driver rehabilitation for over 35 years in clinical, behind-the-wheel, and high-technology evaluations. Chad has served in various positions within the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Services (ADED) such as president in 2004. Chad earned his post-professional OTD from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in April of 2020. Chad has 4 wonderful children and loves to ride motorcycles and camp in his family’s RV in his spare time. | |
Kathy Woods, OTR/L, CDRS, LDI, is the supervisor of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute’s Driver Assessment and Training as well as Vocational Services. She is an Occupational Therapist, Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist, and a MN state licensed driver instructor. Kathy had seven years of experience working in the vehicle modification industry before joining the team at CKRI in 2006. In addition to her role providing oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the services, Kathy provides clinical testing, behind-the-wheel assessments and lessons. She is an active member of the Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). She has served on certification and publication committees and is currently on the Board of Directors. Kathy has earned Autism and Inclusive Communication badges from ADED, which signifies a level of competency within this scope of practice of Driver Rehabilitation. |
