2024 Product Application Sessions
On Demand for ADED Members | No contact hours offered for viewing the recordings
Designed after the Soap Box Sessions held at the Annual Conference, the Product Application Sessions provides an opportunity to learn solutions to complex and challenging driver rehabilitation and automotive mobility situations. These presentations will feature a case study, demonstrating how a product or service is used to solve a client issue. Each Product Application Session is a stand-alone 30-minute event.
Product Application Session 1 - Adapt Solutions

Product Application Session 3 - EMC

Join us to learn about severe joint contractures and selection of primary and secondary input devices for a high-tech driver.

Identify what primary and secondary control input devices were used based on a biomechanical approach using goniometrics and total active motion.
Product Application Session 4 - EMC

Description of presentation
Our case study will present a young male client with cervical spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia. He was a driver prior to his injury and was referred for Occupational Therapy driver rehabilitation evaluation. The client’s goal is modified independent driving using adaptive driving equipment. The decision process will be presented, eliminating low tech AE to the final decision of high-tech EMC AEVIT 2.0.

Product Application Session 5 - Vantage Mobility

Description of presentation
This product application session will explore clinical considerations for the driver rehabilitation specialist when guiding power wheelchair users through the adaptive vehicle selection and modification process. It will highlight a case study of a 46-year-old Male with Becker Muscular Dystrophy and will focus on the specific product applications that allowed this client to successfully maintain his independence as his condition progressed over time.

Product Application Session 7 - Vantage Mobility

This product application session will focus on practical considerations for the driver rehabilitation specialist when collaborating with a client and their family during the vehicle selection process. Participants will examine a case study of a young adult with a T12 spinal cord injury, to learn how low-tech adaptive equipment installed in a wheelchair accessible van led to a whole new level of independence.
