Problem Solving as a Chapter

Come together as a Chapter to problem solve difficult cases, review unique diagnoses, and/or share about techniques that have been successful with your clients. This Round Table will include a case study from each person/practice that has proven to be difficult or solved a previously difficult problem in a new way. The purpose would be to discuss diagnoses, vehicle equipment modifications (and alternatives), training process, vendor installation, DMV/DE interfacing, and final outcomes or results.  

Learning Objectives:
All members will be able to complete a review of each case study, with the following information in mind:

1. All members will identify appropriate diagnoses and mobility levels of individuals that they are able to support within their programs
2. Members will identify available clinical and in-car tools for assessment
3. Members will review available adaptive equipment, and determine what equipment is best for each individual’s needs from each case study
4. Members will discuss options for training, including methods, routes, equipment, and timeframes, and be able to justify which options work best for specific needs of the clients in each case study
5. Members will discuss adaptive equipment installation process, and identify what options are available in their geographic area (as well as what can/cannot be done by some vendors) for each case study
6. Members will discuss current options for DE/DMV interfacing with regard to each case study and identify what programs/options will be best fit for specific needs
7. Members will discuss the communication process with all individuals involved in the case and determine if other alternatives could have been used for a smoother/more streamlined process for the clients in each case study
8. Members will discuss outcomes and determine if there could have been alternative processes that would have yielded other outcomes (positive/negative, different costs, etc.)

Prerequisite: Each person/practice should come prepared with one case study to share with the Chapter over approximately a 20-minute presentation time each. Be willing to bring concerns to the table and receive feedback via constructive suggestions and tried/true solutions from others. *Discussion will continue through lunch. 

Attendance at the entire event is required to earn contact hours, no partial hours are awarded. Refunds will not be granted. ADED reserves the right to modify content, timetable, change speakers, or cancel events due to unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances at any time. If ADED cancels an event, a full refund will be provided to registrants.
