10:00-10:15 Greeting and discuss old business

10:15-12:15 BraunAbility Chapter Education Session Presenter: Cassy Churchill, Performance Coach, Dealer Development BraunAbility

This session presented by BraunAbility offers a structured, educational program for learners to become more familiar with the BraunAbility portfolio, services, and dealer network.  This program will feature live presentation and a hands-on/live-in person component to showcase product. Resources will be provided to participants to enhance learning. Participants must be present for the session including the hands-on product demonstration activity to earn contact hours. The first section of the course will review the history of BraunAbility, their value proposition and review the portfolio of products. This will include wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV’s), lifts and seating products. The second section of the course will include product demonstrations conducted by BraunAbility and their Mobility Equipment Dealer. The final section of the program will be presentation of case studies and application products that the participant has learned about with case scenarios to demonstrate application of products to fulfill client needs.  We would prefer to have these case studies include real life examples from the field, provided by the chapter members/chapter leadership.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of session the participant will understand the following:

  1. The history of BraunAbility and their unique value proposition to include advanced engineering principles and lean manufacturing processes
  2. The value of working with a BraunAbility dealer; for ADED Evaluator and Consumer
  3. The features and benefits of the BraunAbility portfolio including vehicle chassis styles and conversions, lifts, and seating products and how that can assist the evaluator and consumer 
  4. How to access information to assist in your evaluation process and tools for use by the evaluator

1:15-2:15 Continuation of BraunAbility Chapter Education Session

2:15-2:30 Break

2:30-4:30  State of Art Automotive Engineers  Dr. Johnell Brooks, Clemson University

This session will include a 2-hour walking tour of the International Center for Automotive Research and discuss the Deep Orange Vehicle Development from the ground to finished product. We will have an in-depth demonstration of the automotive lab. We will see previous Deep Orange research vehicles and the current one being developed at this time.  We will see all the automotive facility and research areas for developing new vehicles.

 If time permits, we may have the option to discussing the Driving Simulator and new programs being developed for evaluators (this maybe another course offered later).

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding of vehicle development process
  2. Introduction to testing laboratory for Vehicle Development
  3. Introduction to future automotive development

Walking Tour of entire International Center for Automotive Research will include:

  1. In-depth demonstration of the Automotive Lab
  2. In depth discussion of Deep Orange Research Vehicles past, present and future
  3. Tour of facility and research areas.

Registration confirmation and payment receipts are e-mailed to the attendee. Cancellations for conference must be made in writing to the ADED Executive Office by May 12, 2023 a 20% handling fee will be charged. Refunds will not be issued after this date or for “no-shows.” Substitutions are accepted with a written notice provided that the replacement meets the same registration fee criteria. Partial refunds and partial credits will not be granted. ADED reserves the right to modify content, timetable, change speakers, or cancel events due to unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances at any time. If ADED cancels an event, a full refund will be provided to registrants. ADED is not responsible for nonrefundable airline, hotel reservations, or other travel expenses that are incurred due to cancellation.
