Seminar 1 | CDRS Exam Study Session
This moderated session is designed to help attendees prepare for the CDRS certification exam. It will cover key concepts, exam structure, and essential study materials to reinforce knowledge. Additionally, effective self-study strategies for exam preparation will be discussed. Ample time will be allocated for attendee questions and discussion related to exam topics. Attendance will be limited to non-CDRS attendees. No contact hours or continuing education credits will be offered for this session.
Seminar 2 | A case study of self awareness
Staci Frazier, OTR/L, CDI, CDRS & Sadie McCallum

Sadie is a 18 year old with cerebral palsy who experiences visual perceptual and physical challenges related to learning to drive. Sadie has an excellent ability to verbalize exactly what she is experiencing and describing what these deficits are and how they impact her. We will explore her driving journey, as well as, Sadie has produced a documentary titled The Unbalancing Act. This film explores the young adult experience from a disabled perspective tackling the difficulties of independence and how they may look different from able bodied peers. Staci will present Sadie's driving case study, Sadie and Staci will be discussing her driving experience through interview, we will watch parts of the film and Sadie will be available to answer questions related to any and all things disability.

- Attendees will understand how visual perceptual deficits impact driving.
- Attendees will understand the balance of vision, perception and physical deficits and their impact on driving.
- Attendees will understand from a client's perspective how their deficits create challenges with driving, "feel: and the disappointment of not being sucessful.
- Attendees will understand from a client's perspective the unique independence challenges, altered perceptions of their peers and how a different life expectation of independence affects them.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to ask all the questions they may have been.

Seminar 4 | Creating a Visually Supported Driving Experience for Deaf/HOH Clients

This session will focus on behind the wheel strategies to use when working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing drivers. We will discuss basic communication techniques that work in the car, introduce 20 ASL signs that you should know, and talk about how Deafness can affect a person's overall ability to be safe behind the wheel.
